2010 Chevrolet Camaro
|
The fifth generation of Chevrolet's F-body is GM's most
rigid platform to date however that doesn't mean it can't
be improved upon. Strut towers are subject to more load
than most people realize and even normal everyday driving
can deflect the towers a measurable amount. Aggressive driving
and especially track driving can move the towers around
enough to create erratic handling inconsistencies and temporary
alignment drift. Most of this load is directed inward as
the strut/spring compresses and attempts to close the distance
between the two towers. BMR's front Strut Tower Brace reinforces
the front end by tying the two strut towers together, effectively
canceling tower deflection.
BMR's Strut Tower Brace is manufactured from large diameter
1.75" x .120" tubing with heavy duty 1/4"
thick mounting plates. Our braces mount directly to the
top of the strut towers at the highest leverage point for
the greatest amount of stability. The upper strut retainer
is replaced with BMR's billet aluminum, high clearance retainer.
BMR's 4 point Strut Tower Brace goes a step further by
tying the front fenders and core support together with the
strut towers. Our 4 point links are made from 1" DOM
tubing and use heavy duty 1" clevises and QA1 rod ends.
Both versions available in red or black hammertone powdercoat.
NOTE: Does not fit V6 models.

Stabilize caster settings and minimize wheelhop in your
Fifth generation Camaro with a set of trailing arms from
BMR Fabrication. Superior to the factory stamped steel arms,
these Trailing Arms are fabricated from 1" x 2"
rectangular steel and 3/16" CNC laser cut and CNC formed
steel plates. Part number TCA026 utilizes fully fluted,
greaseable, low deflection polyurethane bushings rather
than the poorly supported rubber bushings of the factory
design. Part number TCA027 uses low friction Teflon-lined
spherical bearings. Installation time is only 1 hour. Available
in black hammertone or red powdercoat.

The toe rod is responsible for maintaining toe settings
of the the rear wheels similar to tie rod ends on the front
end. This ensures that the wheels remain set to a fixed
position, not erratically pointing inward or outward under
loading. The factory rods are made from flimsy stamped steel
and use soft rubber bushings at the mounting points. Under
load, deflection can cause poor launch stability, inconsistent
handling and decreased braking ability. BMR toe rods are
made from heavy duty 1" x 2" heavy wall DOM and
use
our spiral fluted, low deflection polyurethane bushings.
Quick and easy install with no decrease in ride quality.
Available in black hammertone or red powdercoat.

For further adjustability than offered in the OE design,
BMR offers two versions of adjustable Toe Rods. Both variations
are manufactured from 1.25" heavy duty DOM tubing and
both are double-adjustable, meaning you don't have to remove
them, they can be adjusted on the car. The polyurethane
version uses our heavy duty 3/4" chrome moly double
adjuster while the rod end version uses QA1's XR series
chrome moly, Teflon-lined rod ends. Both versions install
easily and provide no decrease in ride quality. Available
in black hammertone or red powdercoat.

BMR swaybars are one of the most noticeable handling improvements
you can do for your 2010 Camaro. From the factory, GM did
a decent job with spring rates and swaybars but the Camaro
begs for more roll resistance to counteract the car's excessive
weight. BMR recognizes this need and has a solution that
not only increases roll resistance but does so with very
minimal decrease in ride quality.
BMR takes advantage of today's technology by manufacturing
it's swaybars from tubular steel, a process started in Europe
and adopted by most current auto manufacturers today. All
BMR swaybars are cold formed, a chosen manufacturing process
that doesn't involve heat, resulting in more consistent
"memory" retention. A key feature in BMR's swaybar
design is the adjustable rates, allowing multiple settings
for varying driving styles. From the factory their is inherent
understeer in this platform. Rather than just make larger
OE bars with the same problem, BMR's solution is biased
front-to-rear roll resistance, resulting in a neutral overall
balance. For instance, by simply replacing the rear bar
only and using the first hole, you effectively neutralize
understeer without changing overall roll resistance. Adding
the front bar and choosing a stiffer rear setting increases
overall roll resistance.

Lowering the center of gravity dramatically improves the
handling of your Fifth gen F-Body. BMR lowering springs
are specifically designed to provide optimal handling without
sacrificing ride quality. We spent a considerable amount
of time developing what we feel are the optimal rates for
this application and offer multiple ride heights as shown
below. Because we sell in pairs, the customer has the option
to lower the car front-to-rear with different drop amounts.
Whether you prefer the "raked" look or the "level"
look, we have you covered. Spring rates are:
FRONT: 220 lbs/in
REAR: 460 lbs/in
BMR springs are cold-wound from high tensile chrome-silicon-vanadium
to provide the longest lasting, most consistent rate possible
without long term spring "memory" loss. BMR provides
a lifetime warranty against spring sag.

Stiffen up the chassis for greatly improved handling with
Sub Frame Connectors from BMR Fabrication. Constructed of
1" x 1" x .120 wall rectangular tubing and 3/16"
CNC laser cut and formed steel plates, these Sub Frame Connectors
use pre-existing bolt holes on the Camaro for a truly bolt-in
piece. The triangulating design stiffens and reinforces
the chassis by joining three key areas of the vehicle's
chassis: the front sub frames, carrier bearing location,
and the rear sub frame where the rear suspension cradle
mounts. By fastening these three locations, the Sub Frame
Connectors (SFC015) enrich the handling and response of
your Camaro. New hardware is provided for an easy installation
time of only one hour. Available in black hammertone or
red powdercoat finishes.

FRONT DRIVESHAFT
SAFETY LOOP
|
|
NHRA safety regulations requires a front driveshaft safety
loop for any vehicle running faster than 12.99 in the quarter
mile. The Fifth generation Camaro practically does that
right off the showroom floor! BMR builds their bolt-in loops
from NHRA legal 1/4" steel and the unique design bolts
into place using 2 existing mounting bolts and 2 new ones
provided with the kit. Installation is simple and can be
performed without removing the exhaust.

Need a solution to broken axles? Just as we found with
our Project
TriloG it doesn't take much to break an axle in these
cars. With 420 horsepower on tap straight from the factory
and a curb weight of 3800 pounds, the OE axles are short
lived if you take your car to the track.
G-Force axles are available in two configurations, 4340
alloy and 300M alloy. The axles are designed to not only
improve the strength, but the functionality as well. By
using an innovative bolt-together inner axle stub design,
G-Force axle packages are totally modular. All the parts
between the 2 packages are interchangeable so if you ever
want to up-grade, each component is available individually.
Both kits use the OE-inspired big axle/little axle design
to minimize wheel-hop.
4340 Chromoly axle packages are rated to 1000 HP.
300M axle packages are rated to 1000+ HP.
